  • holy freakin turkey

I just got elected to be in charge of the turkey for 9 adults ( my absent DH makes it the odd number) and 5 kids under 5. What size should I get? Yikes I am scared.

I think the rule of thumb is 1.0 to 1.5 pounds per person for dinner and leftovers. I'd count the kids as half. Nine adults plus 2 (rounding down for 5 kids), how about 16 pounds?
