  • My birthday present

I'm going to cooking school for a day!

    A SIMPLE TUSCAN MEAL

Giuseppe Mazzocchi, Chef, Culinary Instructor, Member of the Italian Chef’s Federation and Les Toques Blanches International

Born in Molino Delle Galere where his grandfather oversaw the production of extra virgin olive oil, Giuseppe fell in love with Italian rural life at a young age, in particular, the extra virgin olive oil which oozed out from the hydraulic press in the 16th century mill. After years spent in professional kitchens, he now manages a cooking school near Montecatini and travels the world introducing people to the wonders of Italian food, including his early love, EVOO. Always maintaining that “eating is a discovery” to be explored through creative experimentation with textures and flavors, Chef Mazzocchi is eager to introduce you to these traditional Italian dishes:

Savory Artichoke Tart with Asiago Fondue
    Florentine Gnudi with White Ragu
Pork Loin with Roasted Sage Potatoes in Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    Panettone Flambè with Sabayon
    CLASS TIME 11 AM - 1:30 PM

    My husband rocks!

Ooh that sounds like fun! Awesome gift!!!

Okay, I have to relay my cooking class story, but yours will not end up like mine! I got a class for DH and me a couple years ago, and they overbooked the class. We ended up dividing up the menu a lot more than originally planned, and DH and I ended up "learning" to make... the salad. And they used pre-mixed/pre-cut lettuce. Grrr...

Ooh - I love that type of gift. I rather have an experience than a shiny piece of jewelry. Have fun!! Tell him two thumbs up/IMSN approved on the gift. Hee hee.

Well, perhaps the brochure with the event circled and a sticky that said, 'if you're looking for inspiration for my birthday...' helped him along a little bit.

I was pretty sure that I was getting an ipod until he printed out the receipt and said "happy birthday."

I'll let him know that he has the iMSN seal of approval. and yes, i will post the recipes!
