  • Milk/Egg Free cake! HELP!

    Hi ladies,

My son turns two on Friday and I need a good recipe for a milk, egg, and nut free cake! Anyone know of one?

I don't....but I would look on the vegetarian times website. They often have vegan desserts.

I've got an awesome one. It's so good I make it and we have NO allergies here. It's called Crazy Cake (b/c it has no dairy / egg in it).

      3 C flour
      2 t baking soda
      1 t salt
      2 c sugar
      6 heaping T's cocoa
      2 t vanilla
      2 T vinegar
      2/3 c oil
      2 C water

Combine all dry ingredients. Make 3 wells; put vanilla in one, oil in one, vinegar in one. Pour water over everything and mix well. Pour into greased tube or bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.

I've made it in all size cake pans - it doesn't have to be a bundt or tube -- you just need to fiddle with the baking time. It does climb nicely, so don't fill the pan too full.

        Thank YOU!

Thank you! I'm going to try that recipe. I am a cake box kind of girl, so lets hope I can do this! hahaha!

How well does this cake hold together? I'm thinking about cutting it and shaping it like a truck. Do you think it will hold together?

It's got the consistency of your standard box cake. I made R2D2 with it a few years back.
