I need to replace my crock pot, any suggestions? I use it frequently, the only time I probably don't use it is July and August. The one I have is a cheaper one, a Rival round, but I like the idea of an oval one. I am willing to go top of the line because I do use it frequently, but don't know if they are any better.

Re: Crock Pot
I'm just starting my journey with slowcooking. I have 2. One is 7qt and the other is 4qt. Both are oval. Both are Rival. And both just have 3settings. Low high and warm. Oh and off too.

We had a rival that was horrible. Now we got a good one at the VA commisary, it's round not oval like the rival was, and we love it. Sorry I'm at school, but I'll get the brand when I get home. Caution with some of the higher end models - they have automatic shutoff after X hours, which can be annoying - we have to leave ours on for quite awhile for religious purposes.Enabler of DW and 5 kids

Luanne, I don't have one yet, but I plan on buying one within the next couple of months. Consumer Reports recommends the Hamilton Beach Set 'N Forget 33967 (http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach...2624511&sr=1-1 best selling on Amazon), and says it "offers the best combination of features for the money." I think I might go with that one. Let us know what you get.Cristina

Mine is oval. I don't know the brand. It just says "Crock.Pot" on it and it's red. It has three settings -- high, low, and warm. We use it about once weekly and I love it.
BTW, anyone got any good slow cooker recipes -- other than Super Easy Indian Chicken?Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
