  • Call Night Meals

I am trying to take some of Kristen's advise from "Surviving Residency" and am trying to meet my husband for dinner on call nights. He loves to see our daughter (and me) and be a "cool senior" for his intern. However, I am sick of picking up fast food on the way there.

Does anyone have any favorite meals to take to their spouses on Call Nights? I hate to make some kind of "cafeteria fare" even though I know mine is better. But I want to be sure that it is easy for them to eat quickly or take back up to their call room if need be.

What are some of your favorites?

When we do bring him a meal, it's always take out from the Vietnamese restaurant that we like that's across the street from the hospital. I just throw it in a picnic basket and trek it up to the resident room.

We will eat just about anything and like trying new foods. Neither of us are picky. I will look into this recipe!
