  • What's for dinner?

It's a gray day here, and I've got the crockpot going with a recipe that Auspicious posted. I think I'll roast some Brussels sprouts to go with it.

    What about you?

We are low on food so we are pilling together a random mélange of ingredients inspired by an epicurious recipe. Whole wheat penne, roasted cauliflower, garlic, dijon mustard, bread crumbs and cream....fingers crossed!

We are going on a quick Valentine's retreat and will be stopping for dinner somewhere in the mountains!

We've cooked exactly once this week. Not impressive.

We had chili earlier this week, so we made Frito chili pie and had a salad with it. Not healthy, but it was tasty, and I hate letting leftovers go to waste!

DH is still at work and probably won't be home so I had soup and crackers, the kids had chicken nuggets.

I haven't had frito chili pie in FOREVER! Yum!

I hadn't either! I just googled what to do with leftover chili, and it came up. Such a comfort food!

Leftover pizza for me (Domino's thin crust Pacific veggie), the dude had chik'n nuggets, leftover rice and apple sauce. We both celebrated the weekend w/ a Berry Munch girl scout cookie. (that's a happy addition to the fold, let me tell you!)

Oh gosh--J, I overbooked the chicken! It was so dry! We ended up shredding it, and I'll make a chicken salad tomorrow. . I can't even get a crockpot recipe right! How pathetic is that?
