I am looking for recipes for homemade granola, most of the ones I've see have so much oil in them that they are huge calorie traps. I prefer that it be oat based (cuz rolled oats are relatively cheap) and probably a honey/vanilla flavor combo.

I've been wanting to try this crockpot granola recipe. It doesn't have any oil at all.

I have one that has very little oil or none. I'll look for it & post it.

Here is the granola recipe I've used. It's super yummy and excellent by the spoon, in yogurt or with milk. Not the clumping type and there is no fat. I didn't put in the almonds.

I made this the other day with just a few tweaks and it was very good. I used maple syrup instead of the honey, adding approximately 1/4c of brown sugar, a bit of vanilla and about 1/4 tsp of salt to bring out the sweetness. I played with the nut/fruit combo, using what I had on hand. But overall, it was good and easy. In fact, I will be starting another batch today.

Mine burnt on the edges. I tried stirring in 30 min increments but the last 30 min was too long. I cooked it for 3h and I don't think it was done.

I've made it twice. It helped to use a slow cooker liner so I could just take the whole thing out and shake the contents around in lieu of stiring. That way I could see if it was burning. Mine was done in under 2 hours. I like your additions and I was wondering about using syrup instead of honey and adding cinnamon.

Today, I am starting it out on high to get it hot and then will be turning it down to low. I am paranoid about burning, so I stir pretty frequently, maybe every 15 minutes or so.
