  • Green Beans Are Boring!

I think green beans are boring and have no flavor. What do you do to make them tasty? I usually end up putting them in the Kong for the dogs!

I'm going to coat them with Habanero flavored olive oil and bake them in the oven until crispy!!!!

Um, butter? I usually add garlic salt, some lemon zest and olive oil. Doing them in the oven with olive oil and garlic also makes for a yummy bean. I actually really like green beans......now I'm hungry.

II steam mine, toast some sliced almonds and throw them together with butter. Super delish. We're having some tonight.

          For once in awhile.

Parboil the beans, slice bacon thinly and fry in a pan, add beans, black pepper.

I grew up on canned green beans, so although I know that's kind of gross, that's how I like them. I usually just add a little bit of Lawry's and that's it. There's also a Steamer (frozen) that's really good. It has almonds that you sprinkle on them after you cook them.

This is how I grew up eating them. Maybe not good for you, but oh so yummy

Over cooked green beens are the worst. They are good just lightly steamed and still a little crunchy. Also, barely cooked, cut up into one inch pieces, tossed with kindney beans, vinegar, and seasonings in a bean salad.

I think green beans are ok. I think they taste good steamed then tossed with a little butter, salt & pepper.

Green beans are my favorite veggie next to brussel sprouts. Every recipe here makes me hungry for them! I'm a big fan of eating them raw too!

My last encounter with Brussels sprouts is when I was pg with DDs...the smell alone made me vomit, lol. Maybe DH needs to try a new recipe??

I love green beans! Like BonBon, I make them with sliced almonds (toasted). Sometimes I also add sauteed onions and garlic.

As for brussels sprouts, our favorite way to eat them is this recipe - http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/r...ipe/index.html Adding even a small amount of bacon to a dish works wonders, IMO.

I love green beans, too. DD LOVES green beans and will pull one out of the drawer if I'm in the fridge

I usually just steam them with a little butter, salt, and pepper. Crispy, crunchy green beans! We're eating some tonight!

DH gets frozen green beans at costco, and dumps a handful into a skillet with some slightly-watered-down black bean sauce (this stuff: http://static.caloriecount.about.com...auce-80108.jpg). Seems easy, and everyone he serves it to that actually likes green beans has liked it.

My mom makes them with tomatoes and chicken. Cuts a whole chicken in to pieces, browns them in a skillet then adds a can of stewed tomatoes. Cooks a bit and then adds the green beans towards the end. Cover and simmer til everything's done.
