do you drink wine? how often?

Yes - not so much these days because I'm nursing and it dries me up, plus I can't drink so much that it passes through the milk, but pre-pregnancy I'd have maybe a bottle a week.

red or white? sweet or dry?

Either - depends on my mood. I don't like sweet, but I don't like the super dry. Fruity and smooth ones are my favorite.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

I love New Zealand wines, but I'm not too particular.

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?

For dinner, it depends on what I'm eating. I don't go out to bars much anymore, but that would also depend on the type of bar we were at.

what is your favorite wine these days?

Step-MIL sent us a few French bottles from wine.com, so I've been drinking those. One was really good, one was OK, so far. I also had a malbec before that. I'm a fan of the cheap but good stuff, normally.

I like a good white (I don't care for Chard, though), but also gravitate toward red wines from Spain and Argentina.
We have a case of a Spanish rojo that is sooooooo good. Too bad I can't have any for a while.

do you drink wine? how often?

Yes. Not often. Twice a month? I much prefer cocktails, but then only really have those 2-3 times a month as well.

red or white? sweet or dry?

        White. The sweeter the better.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

The sweet ones. Lol. I guess no.

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?

If Chad and I are sharing a bottle of wine, we'll order Moscato, Gewürztraminer, or Riesling. We always ask for sweet.

what is your favorite wine these days?

Moscato d Asti and ice wine

Yes, maybe once or twice a week.

          Usually a well-balanced, full-bodied red. I dislike super sweet/dry/tannic wines.

          I prefer PNW wines.

Depends on their selection, our region, and what I'm ordering to eat.

Oregon Pinot Noirs and an occasional well-balanced pink Gewürztraminer. I'm not usually a Gewürztraminer fan because they're typically overly sweet, but if it's acidic enough, it's a great summertime/hot weather drink.

Yes indeedy. I have at least a glass of red wine daily. We have a Washington only wine shop in town and I really like exploring what our state has to offer and what its vintners can concoct. I don't have a very refined palate so a well-aged Cab makes me perfectly happy, but DH has a better nose and loves a powerful Syrah or Zin.

I will typically order the house red but DH often splurges and gets us a bottle of mid-range cab at dinner.

There's a region of the Columbia Valley in Washington called the Wahluke Slope. I've yet to be disappointed by a wine with grapes from this area. There are also a couple of wineries producing amazing blends. Bookwalter Subplot and Long Shadows Nine Hats are two great ones, and although even a varietal wine changes from year to year with the growing conditions, these blends are completely re-invented concoctions every year so it's really fun to explore them.

Zinfandels are a good red to try if you like cabs. 7 Deadly Zins is a favorite.

They're so hit-or-miss though. Knowing DH likes them, my wine-crazy BIL gave us a couple of nice California ones last Christmas, but we've been burned a bunch. I think he knows that label though, I never remember what we've tasted or not.

do you drink wine? how often?
Pretty often, I usually have a glass or two a day

red or white? sweet or dry?
I like both red and white. I like dry ones best.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?
I love South American wines. Italian and Austrailian/New Zealand tie for second.

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?
Totally depends on what I'm ordering.

what is your favorite wine these days?
Almost any Malbec, DaVinci Chianti, and 7 Deadly Zins. But since we're being honest here, I keep a box of white and a box of red, so those are what I usually drink. My favorites of the box wines are Black Box and Bota Box. I don't like bottled wine after it's been open for more than a day, and the boxes keep it tasting fresh.

do you drink wine? how often?

I just got into drinking wine about a year and a half ago. I was vehemently opposed to it before (thought it tasted gross). Now I have a glass at least 2-3x a week, sometimes more (I may have consumed two bottles last weekend).

red or white? sweet or dry?

Red only. I actually don't know if I like dry wines, but I know I don't like pinot noir, which I'm told is considered sweet (wine newbie here). I do know that I love merlots, bordeauxs, cab sav, malbecs, sangoveses. Pretty much in that order. (I do not claim to know if any of these are the same kinds of wines, I just know what the bottles say)

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

Not necessarily. Being still new to wine-drinking I haven't really made note of regions or countries of wines we like, though I should.

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?

Typically I'll order a cocktail. Depending on my mood I will order a glass or two of wine. It also depends on what the drink/happy hour specials are.

what is your favorite wine these days?

Our favorite wine currently is a $9 bottle we find a TJ's. Black Mountain. Their merlot is my fave and DH loves their cab sav. We bought 3 bottles of each last time we were at TJs, though now I'm out so I need to make a trip to refill...

I keep checking the site, and this thread keeps updating. I can't believe how much I want wine now.

do you drink wine? how often?

Yup, not very often though. When my husband was deployed last year, I'd go through a bottle or two a week. Now we don't as much since we can't afford it as easily as beer.

red or white? sweet or dry?

I like most everything. I'm not a fan of super dry reds.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

Nope, I tend to buy cheap wines.

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?

Again, whatever is a reasonable price and goes with my meal.

what is your favorite wine these days?

I'm a huge fan of barefoot moscato. Cheap and super delicious.

do you drink wine? how often?

Yes -- not much at home, usually at dinner out with friends or at parties.

red or white? sweet or dry?

I tend towards Sauvignon Blancs or Pinot Grigios. I prefer dry whites.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

Nope. I've usually found one I like from every region....except the Great Lakes! I should really try to find something from some of these local vineyards but it just seems wrong...

if you go out to dinner or a bar, what do you typically order?

Sauvignon Blanc or whatever the waiter recommends if I'm at a place we go often with a good wine list.

what is your favorite wine these days?

Graves White Bordeaux was awesome last time we went out for dinner.

Can definitely be hit or miss with Zins. Gnarly Head is just OK, but Ravenswood Reserve is a decent choice, too.

Yes, too often. Some weeks pair with dinner each night.

red or white? sweet or dry?

Depends on the food...almost never sweet unless I am serving it for dessert.

do you tend toward a particular country or region?

Love Argentinian wines. Malbecs and Torrontes.

I have to give a shout out to Cameron Hughes. Great, high quality wines for a reduced priced. Been ordering from them since 2008 and have never had a bad wine. Some are gloriously yummy and some are just good.
