Anyone know where/how to get a good deal on black Friday? I want to get the real brand for our nanny, the other brands just don't seem to hold up but I want to get her a big one (8-9 quarts) without dropping almost $400 - we usually get her a big gift plus a large check but at that cost, I would have to dip into her check a little bit which I don't want to do.

I know we have some fantastic shoppers here - tell me your tricks!

    We got ours on eBay.
I would try: Tuesday Morning, and maybe a nicer TJ Maxx.

    For a guaranteed item? Amazon
Maybe WS is going to have a sale soon?

Last year, I scored some on an Amazon lightning deal. It was a set, but the price was incredible and everything was boxed separately. I split it as a gift to a few people.

I know they have outlets, although not sure how many.

They sometimes have them on Ru La La and similar sites (I think maybe I've noticed them on one kings lane also).

I bet that any Macy's sales won't include them, but worth confirming.

        I love ours. That's a great gift!!

We've got ours on sale at William Sonoma and Sur La Table before. Not sure if they'll be Black Friday sales or not but worth checking!

We got ours at Tuesday Morning. Sadly, I don't see them there very often. I check all the time! It was a huge deal and I love that pot.

I see them all the time at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods.

                Le Creuset pots

I got mine at an outlet, they had some amazing deals. Scored a 7.25qt French oven for around $180, after taxes

Sur la table sometimes had sales on them. I got mine there.

Not sure where you can find them in Black Friday, but I know what not to do!

I wouldn't get one from a department store if they are a Black Friday deal. Many department stores are sent different, cheaper versions of products by companies so that they can offer them at a super low price. Le Creuset is one of the brands that does this.

I'd check out Sur La Table...they've been having a lot of great sales lately. Plus, I know they have some coupon deal this year. They add up the total that you've spent from x date to x date, and send you a coupon for a percentage off based on your spending. I don't remember all the details, but I've been there a couple times in the last few weeks, and they had details at the store. Might be helpful if you plan on buying other gifts there.

We've had great luck at WS getting colors that are being discontinued. Sale tables in the back of the store.

Wow! Good to know. I was totally thinking about getting my sister one on sale at Macy's or something rather than buying it off her WS registry. Glad we had this chat! I'll just keep an eye out for WS sales!

Just checking, are you sure about the size? I'm sure you are, but...some people find even the 7 qt hard to lift when it's full, and it's pretty big and versatile. I would think 9qt would be big enough to be much less versatile (Dutch oven cooking works best when the contents *just* fit the pot.) I find 7qt to be just the right size for most braising recipes (3-4 pounds of meat for stew or pot roast.) But maybe she cooks for bigger crowds more often than I do!

Apparently Crate & Barrel sometimes sells it, maybe they're having a sale soon?

I second the TJ Maxxx suggestion ... also Tuesday Morning. We have an outlet, but I think the prices there are pretty outrageous given that it's an outlet.
