  • Fig Recipes

We have a fig tree with lots of ripe figs, but I'm not sure what I can make with them. Any suggestions? Simple is good, but I'm open to any ideas. 😀

Toast bread, spread with goat cheese, slice figs onto it. Nom nom nom.

In school, I boiled figs and got all the juices from them to make fig merengues and adding the flavoring to whip cream, buttercream.

Lots of complicated desserts. But I'm going to start with some goat cheese and toast tomorrow night. 😊 I saw a couple recipes that involved cooking the figs in honey then putting them on vanilla ice cream. Might try that tomorrow, too.

You could look up how to dry them to save? Or make a jam to jar?

Do I need special tools to dry them? What do you do with them once they're dried?

Snack on them, Chop them up and sprinkle on salads, eat them with cheese, add them to oatmeal/hot cereal in the winter, soak them in port/chop and make ice cream/soft cheese/pancake topping. I could go on and on. I wish I could grow a fig tree.

We have a fig tree in our front yard. I'd go see if we have fruit on it, if it wasn't 100+ degrees outside.

Can you post it? We had figs + goat cheese + toast for dinner last night, and it was delicious!
