Do you have a "item" besides lettuce or veggies that you have to have in your salad?

I like feta cheese and it always has to have some fattening dressing on, like Ranch, mmm..

I am always disappointed if there are no onions, even though sometimes I am thankful not to have to deal with onion breath.

Okay, I know this might be weird, but beets. I love pickled beets on my salad. I even love how artificially, ridiculously red they are.

I like nuts, feta or blue cheese, and some type of fruit in my salad (dried or fresh).

avocado and fresh tomatos in the summer, fall salads - pears, apples and walnuts, winter- something warm like broiled chicken or stirfried tofu- spring- whatever is fresh and new to get me out of the winter funk.

              and blue cheese always.
