Ok, gang- it's here, the solution to what we've all been looking for: easy recipes, with the shopping lists, that you can tailor to your families needs:

    http://www.savingdinner.com

She has crock pot menus and vegetarian menus and low carb menus and kosher menus and low cost menus- all for a week at a time WITH the grocery list. Plus, if you join I guess you get coupons etc., too.

One of the Stroller Strides moms told me about it. She's tried several of the crock pot recipes and says that they're great. I downloaded the vegetarian meals and they look fantastic. The website gives you 6 days worth of meals (except crock pot, they give you 5) figuring that you can eat out once or have a favorite meal or whatever. I'm going to give it a try starting this weekend- payday is Friday so grocery day will be Saturday. It'll be great to go with a list. I used to do that with Weight Watchers but this looks even more user friendly.

I'll try the sample veggie meals, some of you others try the other ones and let's compare notes. I don't want to pay if they stink, but if they're all generally good, then it'll be completely worth it to not have to think about 'what's for dinner' while staring at the refrigerator.

I did it last year and it was fantastic! If I ever get my shit together I just might try it again. I have to say we did have a much better variety of dishes when I was doing it, and it really wasn't any more complicated than the kind of cooking I do (Hamburger Helper, etc).
    Awake is the new sleep!

I've done this too -- she's a Flylady person. She has a book as well for those less technically inclined.

Hey, I've got the saving dinner low-carb book if anyone wants it. PM me your address.

I won't use it because I would have to actually copy the grocery list from the book. Too much work for me.
