Anyone feel like brainstorming with me on food for an afternoon baby shower? I'm throwing one for a good friend who will be 36 weeks pregnant. I'm thinking light appetizers and dessert. Any easy ideas?

I went to a 1pm shower a couple weeks ago. There were little pinwheel sandwiches, chips and salsa, a fruit plate with fruit dip, veggies and tiny desserts. No cake though. Beverages ranged from beer to mulled cider.
It was good stuff. Good luck with the shower.

We did a 1pm shower for my SIL and we prepared little tea sandwiches, a fruit and cheese tray, a selection of tea breads (poppyseed, banana, cranberry, etc) and we did have a cake. It's a good thing we made as much as we did because those women were HUNGRY!
We had wine, champagne, beer, a non-alcoholic punch, sparking water and iced tea. We offered coffee at the end with the cake.

PS- MY SIL's next door neighbor and I got loopy because she was adopting from Korea and we both figured we were "expecting" too, but we got to celebrate!
