  • I need some kids vegetarian dishes....

Does anyone have any vegetarian recipes for children? Finny still isn't eating meat and she seems pale to me...so I'm fooling around with some meatless recipes (other than mac and cheese )

    Kris-

Have you ever used TVP (texurized vegetable protein)? It is pellets of protein that are soaked and then used as ground beef. You can add it to spaghetti, as a base for meatloaf, make patties and throw in shredded carrots, onions, mushrooms, etc; make tacos; and anything else you cna think of.

No, it doesn't taste like ground beef, but it's a great source of protein. I use it to make a low fat version of an eggplant dish that's supposed to use ground lamb or groudn beef. Rick has never even noticed. (am I evil or what?) I also throw it in to the spaghetti sauce.

Experiment! and the nice thing is, everyone can eat it, instead of you having to make Finny something different. I also recommend that you read up on meeting her nutritional requirements- the Vegetarian Times website had LOADS of recipes and information.

Have fun! I love to come up with ways to not eat as much meat. For me, its not the ethics as much as it is the farming practices scare the heck out of me! yuck!!!
