  • Fennel?

I have only prepared fennel one way; baking it with fish. Any other suggestions for fennel root?

No, but it would be nice to have something to do with it - it's the only thing the deer don't eat, and it is really thriving and becoming somewhat invasive.

I like to bake it with fish. The easy way is to get parchment paper or foil, toss in whichever fish you want to bake (usually a white fish), add some slices of fennel, some dill, some OJ and some sliced onions and a good glug of white white. Let it bake/steam until the fishies are done and toss the packaging.

Pour the rest of the white wine that you didn't drink while waiting for the fish to cook and toss a bagged salad. Presto, and you look like such an accomplished chef. Especially if you say, " this is ____baked in parchment papier" with a french accent.
