Your cheap vino recommendations

This post was made for me! I was just telling SO last night that I could write a book on good wines under $10

Montes Cabernet Sauvignon (it's around $11 on sale so it sort of counts because it's my favorite!)
Smoking Loon Cabernet Sauvignon (around $8.50)
Yellow Tail Shiraz (usually on sale for around $6.50)
Goats do Roam (South African, most of their wines are pretty good)
Estancia Chardonnay
Côtes du Rhône Grenache (sp?)
Elsa Malbec (Argentinian - SO and I had this the other night!)
Jacob's Creek Shiraz
Bogle Vinyards (again, everything is pretty decent)


I don't like Merlots or sweet whites, but I'll add more as I can remember them... Those are my picks off the top of my head!

It is usually under $10 around here -- the House Wine red and white wines by The Magnificent Wine Co (Washington). I think the Bonny Doon Big House Red is good too.

Not that I would know lately.

We can't forget the infamous 2 buck chuck from Trader Joe's!

We also like the Big House Red and white

I like Tattoo Red also (and they donate a portion of their proceeds to breast cancer research)

I like to go to wine.com and see what they're recommending.

We're $10-or-less people, too.

I'm pregnant so I've been totally out of the wine loop for a while. (2 more months and I can indulge again! I admit, I drink wine while breastfeeding.) I haven't been paying attention to what DH has been buying for himself because I don't want to be tempted.

Most of Argentinian, Chilean and Spanish wines are under $10-12. Although after going to Argentina we realized that really good wine doesn't make it down here or retails for $50 when it does.

Back in CA we used to get monster bottles of Mondavi Cabernet. It was reliably good and reasonably priced. Alcohol of any sort hasn't been in the budget for about 4 years. I don't even know what's on the shelves, though I slways prefered to support local wineries (and we lived near enough to them back in the day)!

We're poor, but we have the memories.

Anyone have a recommendation for a super sweet, yummy, cheap, wine.

Any wine will do, the sweeter the better. I'm not really a big wine fan, unless it tastes like punch.
