Veggiefriend posted a topic about housekeeping over in Grand Rounds, and it inspired me to ask you all a question I've been thinking about.

I imagine many of you know about Flylady, right? Well, she recommends that you make a "skeleton" menu plan for each day of the week. For example, Monday = chicken, Tuesday = pizza, Wednesday = pork, etc.

Apparently making this kind of plan saves all kind of stress, and much of the last minute panic come dinner time. It also helps make grocery shopping go more smoothly.

I would love to make one, however we are essentially vegetarian (although we do eat fish) so I'll have to draw my plan around other sorts of boundaries. I've decided one day will be a pasta/noodle day, and another will be curry/crockpot day. DH is Japanese, so we eat a lot of Asian-type meals. Saturday we often get takeaway. Beyond that though, I'm a little stumped. I'm thinking of putting the easy-to-prepare meals on the days when DH is guaranteed to be late. But I want to allow myself enough leeway within each category so that it doesn't get too boring.

Does this sound too anally retentive? If not, could anyone recommend some other categories which might work? Thanks in advance!

Since Jenn mentioned in her penis pan post that yours wasn't getting any attention, I'd thought I would at least offer a suggestion or two.

Maybe you could do -- curry, fish, pasta, stir fry, egg thing/breakfast for dinner, sandwich, mexican (like quesadillas), stew or braise, savory pie, beans/legume sort of thing.

I got those ideas from the Vegetarian Suppers from Deborah Madison's Kitchen cookbook. Those are some of the categories for her chapters. Some of those might be more work than you are looking for. I love pasta and can have it at least a few times a night and usually prefer it w/o any meat.

      Thank you for your help!

I must admit I haven't seen the Penis Pan post yet, but it'll be my first priority after writing this. Maybe I should look at changing my subject lines into something a little more eye-catching! 8)

How could I have improved this one? "Intercourse and Menu Planning" perhaps?

Incidentally, I like pasta very much too, but I don't know if I could manage it more than twice a night...

I meant twice a week. Oops.

        I like your revised title.
