Make yourself some cheap business cards and hand them out to the person you make the cake for and ask them to give them to their friends, if you make it effortless they will do it.

      Heidi,

Put together some business cards and hand them out .... buy a url and we'll take care of putting together the website

I have a friend who started a catering business by preparing all of her yummy stuff for the neighborhood garage sale. Everyone that stopped by her house could buy a treat complete with business card. It took her a year or so, but she eventually got enough business.

I think if you wanted to start a cake business we could all come up with some creative advertising and marketing ideas for you.

That's great Heidi! Do it! It's a limited investment. More importantly, it's an investment in *you* and the things that are interesting and important for you. I think we all know there isn't enough of that in most medical training marriages. It would be worth it for the good psychology alone.
