Yes...and her Cake Bible and Bread Bible. (Have I mentioned the cookbook addiction?)

I think it would be a good gift if she already likes to do a fair amount of baking. I haven't looked at other pie books a whole lot because I'm so happy with this one. Since using her recipe, I can roll out a perfect crust every time (that is also flaky and tastes great). It has a lot of info in it and is just a good reference book too. She (RLB) is definitely obsessed with baking and the science behind it.

OMG, those are hilarious. I need to keep a running list of good gifts and those would be perfect to put on for next year.

When we were cleaning out MIL's house, I found an apron that says:

I've got more time for lovin'
    thanks to my microwave oven

I was going to give it as a white elephant gift but I can't part with it. We also found a bag of "baby skin" in her sewing stuff -- guess you would use it for Cabbage Patch like dolls. DH is using it for the dept gift exchange.

btw, the other thing I like about that book is it includes other pastry such as tarts. If I were to make croissants, I would use her recipe. There's your chance -- buy it for your MIL and make croisssants together next time you visit her!
