I feel like just within the past year I've gotten back into reading. I just couldn't there for awhile, and a lot of what I read now is "fluff" that I can pick up and put down easily.

I did read Hillbilly Elegy and could relate to so much of it. I wish everyone in my hometown would read it.

      • I hadn't read a real book in a long time and I'm taking the time to lately.

I am almost finished with Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love) by Pope Francis--I read it for lent. I really enjoyed it and found it deep, beautiful, and extremely thoughtful and relevant.

I just started Killers of the Flower Moon--it's about the Osage Murders in the 1920s. DH and I heard a story about it on NPR last spring and were entranced--the story is fascinating. I'm finally getting around to reading the book and I'm excited that there will apparently be a movie based on the book in a few years. Osage county is such a beautiful, random place. I've been there multiple times over the years and we drove through last summer on the way to see the eclipse. We stopped at the Pioneer Woman's place in Pawhuska and then ended up driving on back roads through the hills to Kansas. Boy that region has a history--it looks so sleepy and unassuming but a crap ton happened there in the past 150 years. Anyway, I encourage anyone who likes history or a whodunit to look into it!

I read that at the end of 2017. It's pretty good although there are a lot of characters so it takes a bit of brainpower to follow.

That was a fabulous book. I read it over a year ago and I still think about it all the time.

                • I'm in the middle of, but not actively reading, "Rethinking School" by Bauer and "Hamilton" by Chernow. Both are wonderful books and I'm more than halfway through each, but I think I might need some fiction next.

                    • Just finished Little Fires Everywhere.
Everyone who has done time in the Cleveland area should read it (I really enjoyed it otherwise, but the Cleveland setting was really fun for me). I need to start a new book!

Yes! I just started it and love the Cleveland references.
