  • I'm hooked on Mad Men

And yes, I know I'm fairly late to that party. I am finding that some of these characters are really fascinating. Fellow Mad Men fans: what do you think about some of the characters? I can't think of another show that whose characters make me all at once dislike them, love them, distrust them, and feel sympathetic for them. Usually it's pretty cut and dry. Love or hate. Like Betty - I find myself feeling so sorry for her, but at the same time, I kind of think she's a little bitchy. And Don. Even last night DH said he found him to be a "fascinating" character. I want to hate him, but I don't really hate him, even though he's a adulterous piece of shit.

PS - I'm only mid way through season 3 so, no spoilers please!

I stopped watching a couple years ago, somewhere in the middle of season 4, I think, but I'm tempted to take it up again. At the time I'd just had it with most of the characters and their bad decisions! Don and Betty both just got so pathetic. Love Peggy and Joan though, they're my favorites!

Yes! Pathetic is exactly how I would describe Don. I am not quite there with thinking Betty is pathetic, but she does sort of have a martyr air about her...and that demure, tight smile she always gives Don I'm rolling my eyes going: "HE'S YOUR HUSBAND, TELL HIM WHAT THE FUCK IS UP!!" I know it was the 60s, but I'd be running off at the mouth if I had the issues in my marriage that they do.

I wish I looked like Joan.

I'm glad I'm not married to Don.

I find the show pretty depressing and I redeeming, but compelling.
