  • Hyperbole and Half

I read today that Allie Brosh's depiction of depression in her blog Hyperbole and a Half and the book of the same name is considered by psychologists to be "one of the best contemporary portraits of the condition." I thought this was really interesting because while reading her book, I couldn't help but think of how important the message she was illustrating was. If you've experienced depression or anything close to is, Brosh's honest and vulnerable accounts are so incredibly relate-able. Sprinkled in among the funny panels about her crazy dogs or funny childhood stories are these gems of raw emotion that so many other people have experienced.

If you haven't read it or visited her blog, I highly recommend it.

I agree. I love her site and her book. When I first read that post, my initial thought was "Allie's back!!!!!!!!!!" and my second thought was "Oh wow, someone else in the world gets it!"
