I'm reading this for my book group and it is a pleasant change as it is the first book we've selected that I've liked in a while. This graphic novel also scores points for being a quick read.
This is the author's recollection and drawings of his three month stay in Shenzhen overseeing the outsourced animation of a cartoon series. He feels isolated during his assignment and struggles to engage in more than chitchat with his translator or find fellow Westerners. His observations are witty and often humorous but also show an appreciation for the freedoms of the western world.
