    Great book. It definitely gives a little bit of insight into Afghanistan's history and culture. I enjoyedit

    I've seen bits and pieces of the movie on TV...I need to watch the whole thing. I have pretty much given up on reading for enjoyment, at least a few more years.

        I didn't realise that there was a movie. I wonder how it would compare to the book. I will definitley check it out some night when my husband is on call.

            oops my mistake...the movie I am referring to takes place in Afghanistan, deals w/ a boy who takes on the responsiblity of caring for another little orphan...I'm racking my brain trying to remember more. :huh:

              That reminds me of an Iranian movie about orphans - "Turtles can fly." It was so sad I couldn't finish watching it.
