Has anyone read this? A friend just sent this to me; it sounds really interesting. Looks like it will be a quick read.

    Re: Three Cups of Tea

It was really wonderful (I finished it on the plane ride home yesterday). I wouldn't call it a quick read though. Heavy subject matter, a lot to keep straight (the different tribes, regions, customs, etc. in Pakistan and Afghanistan). I thought it was a wonderful insight into a more peaceful (and seemingly productive) approach to the issues of the region. It's also a different view of Islam than westerners usually see, one I think to be more acurate than what gets shouted from podiums today.

I think what Greg Mortenson managed to accomplish is amazing & admirable.

ETA: This is the website for the charitable organization associated with Greg Mortenson. I've emailed our PTO to see if we can do something like this at our school (not holding my breath here in the red-state-Bible-belt), but wanted to try.
