Very similar to Eat Pray Love.
The author was abandoned by her parents in S. Korea. She grows up in New Orleans (adopted by an American family at age 3). She travels extensively and is swept off her feet - she falls in love with a Frenchman, who happens to be a rich old fart (founder of L'Occitane.)
The author searches for her identity and home through the lens of travel and good food.
It's like Gilbert's book, only with a focus on the food (Italy) part. That was the part I liked most in Eat Pray Love anyway.
