I'm in the middle of Sinclair Lewis' Main Street. It's a really good read - about a big city (St. Paul) girl moving to small MN town, and all about people's prejudices from both sides of the aisle.
It does a good job of characterizing small town USA, and of showing that people can be small-minded both in big cities and in small towns.
