  • easy reads?

Since I'm still up with DD every 2 hours at night, I am looking for something easy and fun to read to keep me from falling asleep.
I pretty much like anything. I liked the Twilight series, The Hunger Games series, Bossy Pants, Ellen's new book was fun, I liked the one about the cheating doctor that was discussed on here a while ago.
    Any other suggestions?
I tried to read The Help, but the writing in accent thing drove me bananas.

Have you read the Shopaholic (Sophie Kinsella) books? They're easy and fun. I also loved Ready Player One - kind of geeky, but it was a really fast read with tons of '80s references.

I second the Shopaholic, although you may keep everyone awake with your laughter.

Emily Giffin Series: Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, Love the One You're With, Heart of the Matter.

They come in an order but they're very quick reads and fairly amusing. Bergdorf Blondes is also fairly funny.

The Hollows series are easy reads. So are the Sookie books (Southern Vampire Mysteries). If you want a male lead in the same paranormal genre, I'd recommend the Dresden Files books.

I pretty much stick to the paranormal stuff because it's light and fun and not real. I have a really hard time reading books (or watching movies) that could even possibly be real life. When I "escape" I need it to be fantasy.

I tried to read back when DS was a super teeny sprout (in the middle of the night), but wasn't retaining much due to sleep deprivation.
Might I suggest Angry Birds, or Tetris, on your smart phone?

Also try David Sedaris, the short stories don't require as much of an attention span.

The Sookie Stackhouse series is great (and so much better than True Blood...which is just bizarre)...

Oh and I discovered the Anna Pigeon series this summer. Set in national parks and surprisingly engrossing for a series about a park ranger!

Oh yeah, and Anne McCaffrey has several series that are great!

If you liked Twilight, there's another book by Stephanie Meyer called The Host that is pretty good.
