I read the whole thing when it was titled "Master of the Universe". In case anyone is unaware, it was originally written as Twilight fanfiction. (no, I don't normally read fanfiction but someone recommended it to me.) It was a fun read when it was free, but I wouldn't pay 30 bucks for it.

I read the first pretty fast but now keep abandoning the second toward the end. They're kind of corny... but I want to know what happens in the end but sort of over the sex stuff, it's getting repetitve. I think I can guess what is to come with the sex in book 3.

I read the first one. While certainly no literary masterpiece, I found that the criticism of the quality of the writing was very much over the top. It's no better or worse than most other books on the bestseller lists these days.

I tried to like it, but It just didnt have enough of an actual plot for me. IMHO, I felt like the author wanted to write about sex so she tried to throw a story line in there. I had already put the next two books on hold on my library list and cancelled them because I just wasn't interested enough to continue reading. I can see how some people really enjoy it, it just wasn't for me.

I read the first two, and I'm still occasionally going back to the third. I want to finish because I hate leaving books unread, but it just isn't enough to hold my attention. I agree with McPants - the first one was fine. I enjoyed reading it, but the next two get progressively worse.

I haven't read any of the books, but was surprised to find out that it pretty much encompassed my old stomping grounds. And why the hell the writer would include WSU-Vancouver in the story is beyond me. It's a decent enough school, but I wouldn't have thought it well known in England.

I think because it was originally written as Twilight fanfic, the author used the same geographic area but tried to grow it up a bit. I haven't read it either... on one hand I give major props to anything that can make Americans less puritanical about sex. The number of middle-aged ladies I've seen reading this book in public is staggering! On the other hand I don't think that the glorification of a whiny virgin and a controlling, abusive relationship is really the answer. Meh. Not my kinda thing.

I read the free sample on Kindle and found the grammar, writing style and premise so hellish, I deleted it.

I would have thought UW would have been on her radar above and beyond a satellite campus for WSU since Seattle is FAR closer to Forks than Vancouver. Unless she though Vancouver was somehow up near the Canadian border. (It's a surprisingly common misconception.)

LOL! Yes, I think you are. I read them - not all that impressed and I don't see how they think they're going to make them into movies they'd have to be NC-17 (or is there a worst rating) because there is no story line.

I wonder how many readers actually started experimenting with some of the things that happened in the book? I've only sampled half a paragraph and that was enough for me for reasons that LSW stated.
