This book is by Andrea Buchanan, and I think every mom who has ever been the least bit ambivalent about the journey she has embarked on with the birth of a first child should read this. I had so many moments of self-recognition as I read this book. It took me back to when my oldest was a baby -- I wish I could have read it then, so I would have known I wasn't a nutcase.

Anyway, since we have so many new moms around here right now, I thought I would post this as a recommendation......

Sally, I have to thank you so much for recommending this!!! I feel that this should be mandatory reading for all who are becoming mothers. I was so terrified of becoming a mom(thanks Kris, for all your encouragement and truthfulness 8) !). I too, had many moments when I was reading this book of recognition. And I am so new to this game!

        Sally,

I bet you never thought that the author of the book would come by and read your review

What a wonderful recommendation! Being a full-time mom of two young children, I found myself laughing and crying through this book. I think it is always encouraging to find that I am not alone in my chaos ... Thank you for suggesting it!

For all other moms out there -- try reading Forever, Erma -- a collection of Erma Bombeck columns editors put together in a book. It is a tremendous gift I recieved from my father-in-law ... Such truth in her writing!

I have to say, based on everyone's recommendations, I gave this book to both my SIL and my Bestest Pal. They thought it was fabulous and were extremely thankful to have read it.

both had "aha" moments. In fact, my SIL has decided that she is going to give it and the book I gave my brother (Babies: an Owner's manual) to every expectant couple she knows.

            So- thanks to all-
