  • The Feast of Love by Charles Baxter

I found this book randomly at a used bookstore and it turned out to be a very enjoyable read. It tells the relationship/love stories of several characters who live in Ann Arbor (the author teaches at U of Mich). There's a little bit of chronological plot, but mostly, each chapter is an individual story.

The writing is descriptive and the characters are engaging. Baxter captures the different experiences and personalities of each storyteller really well.

I'm going to have to pick this up! Your description caught my eye since we live in Ann Arbor, went to U of M for undergrad, and DH is currently in residency at the U hospital. Needless to say, we bleed 'maize and blue'... Thanks for the tip, I'm going to look for it at my library!

Let me know how you like it! I'm also curious if the coffeeshop they mention is a real place (can't remember the name now- I lent my book out).
