On a whim I picked this up at the grocery store and I really enjoyed it. It is by John Grisham, though not at all like the suspense novels he is known for. If you have seen the promos for Christmas with the Kranks, then you get the gist of the book--the daughter is going to be gone so they decide to skip Christmas, which causes a huge stir. Now I'm kind of anxious to see the movie!

Skipping Christmas

I thought it was a cute book, too. I bought it last year and read it in the airport. It's a quick "no-brainer", which judging from some of these vastly important tomes everyone else is reading, seems like everyone should get- just to give themselves some slack at the holdays-
OK- only books that require a tissue box or that have pictures during the everso stressful holidays!
