This romantic comedy is a quick read and thoroughly enjoyable. The writing is well-paced and witty and the characters interesting and likable (but not perfect). The premise of the book is that 6 people, 5 women and 1 man with varying levels of devotion to Jane, come together for an Austen only book group. Each chapter is devoted to an Austen title and focuses on the host of that month's meeting.
You don't, IMO, have to a Jane Austen fan to read this book. There is a synopsis of Austen's work at the back of the book -- wish I had seen that before I read it. I haven't read Austen in years and by chance saw Sense and Sensibility last weekend which sort of helped in reading the book. (If you are an Austen affecianado, know that it is not about her or entirely devoted to her books).
