The Medical Marriage

Who has read this book and what did you think of it? I'm about halfway through and am finding the book to be very depressing. All they talk about his problems in the marriages--- not recommemdations for making it better. Do I need to bother sticking with it? Does it get better? They almost make it sound like no medical marriage is worth having.

I read the entire book and I believe it is written from the perspective of the physician--in an effort to have spouses better understand the issues they face--it was helpful for me to understand my spouses issues but admittedly did little to help me deal with my own

Ok- i cheated and skipped to the last chapter. That did make the book better. It was a great deal more positive than the reast of the book. Actually, Dave and I sat down and talked about some of the recommendations and realized that we are doing several of the things they recommend, but could certainly work harder in some other areas (I think we were both pretty embarrased about how bad we are at that making time for romance part). It opened the door for some very constructive conversation. I'm glad I stuck with it.

I just received the book and look forward to reading it. My husband comment was "why do you need to read abook about something that you're already doing?" I just gave him 'the look' and that was the end of it!
