This is a memoir by Jeannette Wells. It is really an incredible book about the author's childhood growing up with nomadic parents. She goes hungry, sleeps in boxes at times, and is moved from town to town but gives a very matter of fact account rather than resorting to self-pity. It's really an amazing story and I felt somewhat altered after reading it.
