Has anyone else read this? I'm curious to hear what other people think about it...
It's a historical thriller (I think it's been marketed as being along the lines of The Da Vinci Code, but that's not entirely accurate) about the legend of Dracula. It's primarily told through a series of letters written by the narrator's father. Much of the book is set in medieval Eastern Europe, the history of which I am not familiar with at all so that made it difficult reading at times. I feel like it sort of got off to a slow start, got interesting, slowed down again in the middle (waaaaay too much detail about the travels of monks through Eastern Europe, I thought), and then picked back up in the end. I felt sort of glad to be done with it by the end (641 pages!), and I still don't really know if I liked it or not. Definitely not a quick, light read.
