NOW I am posting this in the right place.....
This is the story of an ordinary guy with a white collar job (Jimmy Lerner) who, through a series of bad decisions mostly due to his alcoholism, ends up taking someone's life and is convicted of manslaughter and sent to prison. He writes of the time he spent there and the personalities he encountered. It is a pretty gripping book....I had a hard time putting it down. He is a good writer and what I read (which is fairly graphic at times) confirms my belief that our prison system needs an overhaul, and also that our legal system has its share of flaws, as well.
