  • The Lost Daughters of China

I just finished this book and it was really fantastic! The author is basically chronicaling (sp?) her experience as she goes through the process of adopting a little girl from China. What makes the story so unique and touching, is that she also explores the many reasons why a woman in China is led to the decision to "abandon" their daughter, as well as going into the history behind the strong patriarch in China. I cried more times than I can count while reading this book, but was still left with feelings of hope for the girls and women who remain in China. My sister is going through this process right now, which made the story especially touching.

I read this book recently and thought it was a great read.....enough personal stuff to keep it interesting (for me) and enough history, etc. to give background.

Won't you love reading for enjoyment again after you finish school? I read voraciously when I could finally read material that I wasn't going to be tested over!
