I just LOVE Paul Auster. His new book is great.
That's all I'll say without giving the whole thing away.
But if you like his stuff, you'll love this book.

I need to find more authors like this - can anybody help me out?
FWIW, my other current favorites are Philip Roth, Paul Theroux (though his latest was a little too pornographic for me), Don DeLillo, Tim Winton, David James Duncan.
Any suggestions?

(Is there a website where you can enter your favorite authors and it will spit out recommendations for new authors to check out? I know Amazon does that whole "if you liked X, you should try Z" thing, but it never works for me)

Not that I know of, but it's a great idea! Why don't you start one in your free time!?!

I actually find that Amazon might offer some possibilities. They do the other people who bought this book also purchased... and if you like this book you might also like...

It has worked for me with professional books, I haven't tried it with fiction though
