Shopaholic and Sister

Honestly, I'm a little bored with the character Becky Bloomwood in the shopaholic series. The book got better towards the end but I often found myself irritated by how financially irresponsible she is. (And that is saying a lot because I'm not exactly the most fiscally responsible person on the planet).
Overall I give it a half-thumbs up.

Agreed, I can only take so much of her ditzy shannigans and logic! I thought this was a desperate attempt to make a few extra bucks!

I generally liked the entire series, but it may have to do with being a shopaholic myself. I think the Shopaholic takes Manhattan was my favorite, largely because I knew all the stores/restaurants/etc. and could relate to those experiences more.

I still remember how when I got to the section of Becky discovering the luggage section of the department store (I think it was the in the first book), I thought "OMG, I can't believe I haven't explored luggage yet, she's so right." And just the other day I was talking to a co-worker about watches and how I haven't considered owning several at once before and she asked if I read about Becky and her discovery of luggage.

I hated the Shopaholic series because I kept getting so pissed at Becky. I was sitting there practically yelling at her to stop spending money already! Can you tell the budget is tight around here when I'm getting mad at an imaginary character. Geesh!

That and all the damn curry or whatever. I didn't care for the first book and so I never touched another one again. I'm not a big beach reading/chick lit reader.
