    Anyone interested?

I was thinking a book every two months. We could arrange a schedule and each pick a book or three and have everyone vote on the one they want to read. Then, we can come here and discuss it, lightly, of course.

Should we rotate "hosts" like a IRL book club? You pick first? And we'll set a discussion date with a sticky reminder in this forum? It sounds like fun to me. Let's figure out the best way to set it up. We talked about doing this before with SueC as a moderator...but I forgot. I don't know if that ever happened or how it went. Maybe we should try it again

ETA: We could all pick a few books and vote as well. Sorry for not reading more carefully.....should we start suggesting titles now?

We read "The Time Traveler's Wife" last summer. It seemed hard to set a time for everyone to discuss it online.

          Time to try again!

Yes, I thought we could rotate hosts. The host could pick a few books and then everyone can vote on them. We get two months to read a book. Sound good?

Have you ever gotten a chat client to work on this board? I know installing one is a pain!

Maybe the host could set the date for the online meetup (as best as he/she can), maybe send out an e-vite, post a few recipes, and pretend it's a real party!

                    Heidi,
Kris can answer better than I about installing a chat feature. We have had it before and I think it caused some problems. Maybe we could open up an topic in a forum? Kind of clunky, I know.

I like the idea of an evite and recipes.

I think the chat feature failed. I know you had some problems getting it to work on your BB as well, but you did get it to go in the end, didn't you? Maybe we could work it out. Let's see what Kris thinks. A chat feature could be handy for things like this. If that doesn't happen, we could have a posted discussion like Nellie suggested. Maybe you should start a new thread with book suggestions and voting? We might even get through 2 books before the end of summer.
