Cheri, I think your review of this book disappeared when we lost posts.
This book is best suited for dog lovers or dog-appreciaters. It's the story of Marley, and his owner, John Grogan, a columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer. The sub-title is: life and love with the world's worst dog. Marley has the best Lab characteristics, loyal playful and in love with life but also all of the worst. He flunks out of obedience school, causes damage and destruction at every turn, likes to swallow gold necklaces, the works.
I laughed through most of the book but was in tears by the end. It's a very sweet tribute to a dog that brought endless frustration and also a chronicle of the author's personal growth from being newly married to the father of three. If you like dogs and have ever had a particularly spirited and lively pooch, you will probably enjoy this book.
