  • An Inconvenient Truth

I haven't watch the whole thing yet, but I've seen most of it. I think it's very well done. I heard Al Gore speak in public once when he was still the VP. For someone who is often ribbed for being a stiff, he has an excellent sense of humor. It's definitely evident in the movie.

I think his claims of global warming are well supported with extensive scientific data and, frankly, I don't know how anyone can deny it. This is what made the movie downright scary to me. However, I haven't reached the part in the movie where he discusses what we can do to reverse the effects. (I assume he offers some solutions).

I think no matter what side of the policial spectrum you sit, this is movie you should see.

I also thought the documentary was very well done and the argument especially well articulated. I didn't need to be convinced but I thought the film makes it really accessible, even if it discusses sometimes complicated scientific findings.

The only thing I didn't like too much about it was the almost TV-preacher tone (towards the end). I also saw the conference (which is the very same thing as the movie, and as the book...) and it was even worse in person, as he paced the stage the resemblance with those guys I have sometimes seen on TV when I was in the US was even more striking. But if that's what's needed to reach some publics... well why not?

Just saw it last night with DH.

It's well done and worth seeing.
      The message is clear.

I really didn't have a strong opinion on Gore before I saw the movie but I do respect his passion for this topic. He's dedicated and it shows.
