After seeing the trailer to this movie, I completely expected this to be a Narnia-special-effects presentation. My son and I read the book which has very little to do with fantasy so I was ready to give this movie an awful review.

However, the trailer just showcases the special effects so that the kids nag mom and dad to take them to see the cool new film. This picture is so much more. It is a beautiful story about a friendship, and dare I say, better than the book.

Take your grade school age kids to see this one.
    You won't be disappointed.

Better than the book? How often does that happen?

I absolutely LOVED that book when I was in grade school

I hadn't read the book just saw the trailer and was expecting a Narnia type film also. I was shocked that the little girl dies suddenly. I wish I had known before taking my 6 yr old. She kept asking if she was going to come back. She didn't quite understand,
