  • The Bridge

This is a documentary inspired by a 2003 New Yorker article called "Jumpers", and examines the Golden Gate Bridge as a popular suicide destination.

It's a very interesting look at suicide and mental illness... the cameras were on the bridge during daylight hours throughout 2004, and filmakers subsequently interviewed friends and family members of those people who had killed themselves.

After seeing the movie I had to go read the inspiration article and ended up reading a lot more about the movie - seems the man who made the movie wasn't entirely honest about why he had cameras rolling the entire year, nor did he openly share with family members that he had footage of their loved one jumping.

It was eery, but very respectful... I recommend it, but the footage is very real.

Yes, I saw this and it was wildly interesting in a can't-take-my-eyes-off-the-carwreck sort of way. The interviews of the surviving family members and loved ones broke my heart.
