  • 3:10 To Yuma

Making a quality Western is extremely hard IMO.

This one has all the goods.
    It definitely delivers.

The plot is intense and the acting is fantastic. Russell Crowe creates a perfectly charming but ruthless villian you WANT to love, and Christian Bale is just so darn honest and hardworking you can't help but hope he catches a break. Peter Fonda has a small but memorable part.

    TWO BIG thumbs up.

I did not want to watch this. When DH rented it, I was like, groooan, do I have to! But then, he's been so nice and so I watched it with him. And I wasn't bored at all- I really liked it. It wasn't as "dirty" as a lot of western-type movies are-- not nearly like Deadwood which I can't stand. Russell Crowe was great, and the story really kept me guessing until the end.

I love Russell Crowe (Gladiator, swoon) but this movie didn't do it for me. It was too predictable for me. I had the ending pegged by the middle of the movie. I thought that the acting was fine and the story line good but it just seemed to drag on for me. Obviously, different strokes for different folks...
