  • Into the Wild

Recently, Dh and I had the good fortune to see two movies in the theater. (With kids, it really is a luxury for us.) Anyway, Into the Wild was a really good movie, in a disturbing sort of way. It's based on a true story about a recent college grad who gives up everything: savings, identification and most of his personal possessions and sets out across the U.S. with his goal to get to Alaska and live in the wild.

My thoughts about the main character are conflicted. I admired his independence and determination, but he also made me uncomfortable, sad and lonely. It's the kind of movie that sticks in your mind long after you left the theater.

I saw the interview Oprah did with the director Sean Penn and the lead actor. I can't wait to see it!
