  • Dan in Real Life

I went to see Dan in Real Life. TOO CUTE! Best romantic comedy I've seen in years. Not among the best of the best like Sleepless in Seattle or anything......... but GOOD! Go see it with a teenager or a goodfriend.

I went to see it this afternoon by myself. It was quite sweet -- reminded me a bit of "The Family Stone" w/o the dying mother.

No. I noticed a lot of middle aged women (NOTE: even though I am nearing 35 I do NOT include myself in "middle aged". )

I rented this and watched it this evening. A bit too long, but the scenery was gorgeous!

          I love Dianne Wiest.

I like Steve Carrell. I'm always reminded that I need to go to Second City more often while we're still living in Chicago. There's tons of talent that comes out of there.

I enjoyed this movie. It was *very very very* predictable, as are most romantic comedies. I just really liked this story though-- it had me on the verge of tears almost throughout it. That's probably a pregnancy/hormone thing, though, b/c it's not really "sad".

I did like the scenery- it took DH and I a long time to figure out where it was set- basically until the cop gave Dan the first ticket.

And if you have tweener girls, or someday will , I thought it was totally on wrt the sass, etc.

              Re: Dan in Real Life

We just saw this last night. Even my husband liked it! As everyone said, it has its predictable moments but still- it was a good movie.

and man, that house is to DIE for. We watched the interviews section and apparently all of the actors (except for Steve Carell) came to the house three weeks before they started shooting and really bonded with each other and the house. Carell was still shooting the office. But, we were saying that it probably worked better with his character being kind of 'off' from the rest of the family anyway.

and yes, the teenaged girls were Dead On. "You. Are. A. Murderer. Of. LOVE!!!!!" I'm so using that on my husband when he annoys me next time.

I agree with the other reviews of this movie. It is touching and well-done, but I am glad we waited to see it on vacation and didn't pay big bucks to see it on the big screen.
