Grizzly Man

This was a really good documentary about a man who decided to go live among bears in Alaska. He was passionately dedicated to them- he spent half the year living among them in a primitive campsite and the other half of the year teaching school children about them for over 13 years. He videotaped everything he did. Not surprisingly he met an untimely death at the hands of a bear. This dvd is strangely fascinating as the guy is a real character and the narrator has a lot of insight into his fascination with bears. I recommend this one.

is this the movie/documentary where his girlfriend joins him too? where they both get killed...and it ends up being filmed?

It does end up being filmed, but they don't show the footage of them being mauled.

We thought this movie was good too, but the guy was so ... weird. I dunno, he just seemed so "out there" to me.

They have an audio tape of him getting killed but they do not show it, two people that have heard it discuss it. Yeah, he is really out there, he speaks in this baby voice to the bears, and it is like, are you crazy? But I guess he is crazy.
